Abstarct: Abstract Considering the importance of energy management in smart power microgrids, control units have been created for this purpose in microgrids. In these units, the energy monitoring and management system has been implemented to monitor and achieve optimization goals. This system is baxsed on software for energy monitoring and management. These softwares communicate with microgrid devices on the basis of standard and well-known protocols. The energy monitoring and management system in Iran needs localization due to various economic (such as foreign exchange) and security (lack of access to resources) reasons; Therefore, native software should be designed for energy monitoring and management system, so that it meets the needs of the industry and is competitive with non-native software in the international arena. In this thesis, this software is designed according to the communication standards baxsed on the Modbus protocol, which is among the most common protocols in the industry, and also by adding innovation in its energy management (as the ability to solve energy optimization problems). The designed software, in the smart microgrid of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of Shahrood University of Technology, includes smart meters and weather sensors, photovoltaic sources, batteries and controllable loads, its implementation and performance are checked.
